Artist Project 2016

artistproject_01
Attended the opening night of the Artist Project 2016 contemporary art fair last night at the Better Living Centre here in Toronto.
Although I was completely overwhelmed by the amount of artworks & artists, the vibe was great and overall positive.
Here are some of my favourite snaps of the night!

Live music, free alcohol, a few inspiring chats with some artists and snacks – not my favourite art event of the year but I’d definitely go again next year!

90 Bottles Watercolour

Starting to get out of my comfort zone in the studio.
Painting with loose plans and really gunning for it first thing in the morning (it’s when I’m most focused).
This piece is a celebration of my hand and the imperfect quirky little moves it makes.
It’s a 30 X 22  original watercolour piece that is now for sale in the shop.
Accompanied with a little (handmade) pamphlet mapping out each bottle’s name (although, might be more fun to see how many you can guess correctly before you jump to it!).
2 more days off means more time for more paint.

Winter Yellow

Coat: Zara Hat: Love Head Mistress
Not usually one for colour. I’m a huge fan of closets that are full of neutrals – grey, black, white, black, nude, black.
BUT! Zara was having a sale and I really do love the blue + yellow combo.
Here’s a big “eff you!” to the grey days we’ve been having lately and the grey days still to come.

Meanwhile, I’ve had a lot of time off work which means more creative time, (yay to being broke by next week!)

Some very special watercolours on their way.
