AirBnb – Ottawa

airbnb_01March and I took a 5 hour drive to Ottawa this weekend to attend the Digi60 film competition. March had a film entered so we thought we’d take a hike up Canada and escape from Toronto for a bit. Over the 2 nights we spent at Digi60 we saw some phenomenal films from local filmmakers. March snagged 3 awards for his new Documentary, “TOY BOY” which will be available soon to view online. Dominka’s post on Airbnb was nothing short of amazing while we ventured around all weekend in the blistering cold of Ottawa. I can’t imagine driving up again anytime soon but I definitely recommend staying here again.

While we were there we managed to visit the National Gallery, the Parliament Building and purchased some sweet crystals in the market. We ate at Wilf & Ada’s for brunch and dined at Fauna which was conveniently located down the street. Dominka’s place was comfortable and just what we needed while we stayed away. It’s no surprise I’m obsessed with AirBnb, pretty happy that we’ve never had a bad experience yet (KNOCK ON WOOD!).
Currently planning on the busy week ahead after my getaway weekend.

Designing Temporary Tattoo’s

tattoo_03tatoo_06tattoo_05tattoo_08tattoo_07tattoo_04tattoo_01Hi There! I got tatted recently. Just kidding. I bought some Decal Paper and designed some temporary tattoo’s out of some of my favourite drawings.
It’s not the sort of paper you had as a kid that required you to sponge water onto the backing- but it’s a start.
On the left I illustrated all the things you’ll need to make your own and look like a total loser. I’m not sure why someone would want a temporary tattoo at 24… but if you’re looking to be ironic without scarring your body forever then I guess this is for you.

All you need really is the paper, an INKJET printer and a steady hand. The nutella tattoo decal is probably my favourite. I can already think of a million ways to use this transfer paper. In about 3 hours every mug and glass surface will bare a trendy decal that I’ll probably curse myself for later. I’ll update you on those photos when I finish being so obsessed with this. Anyone know how I can get into making the tattoo’s with more permanent feel ? These ones are little more like transparent thin stickers that are pretty tough to get off but still not the same as the ones I had when I was younger.

Hope you enjoyed your productive Wednesday while I sat here and figured out how I to make temporary tattoos (my life is sad).
